Appeal success for Pouts

Pouton: Appeal successful
Pouton was harshly sent off for 'denial of an obvious goalscoring opportunity' by referee Trevor Kettle during Tuesday night's match with Brentford.

Fans in position to see the incident clearly all agreed that the sending off was extremely harsh and the Brentford player, Jay Tabb, was far too quick to hit the deck.

This view has been backed up by the Football Association, who have overturned Pouton's one-match ban, leaving the Geordie free to resume his role in the centre of the Gills midfield this weekend against Swansea.
