Stoke's Director of FootbalI John Rudge told the Potters' official website, "We are delighted to sign him. He is still a young, improving player who we feel has lots of potential which has not yet been released.

"He is a big, strong, forward and we see him as an excellent acquisition to the squad. But this is not the end because we are still looking to bring in another couple of forwards as well."

"He gave our two central defenders, Gerry Taggart and Michael Duberry, a tough time (last season) and that didn't happen very often last season."
