"I thought the three centre-backs were fantastic," he said. "They looked very solid. I also thought they paid Paul Shaw a big compliment by getting Mark Rankine to man-mark him."

"With the heat it was tough for both teams and I was pleased with a point and a clean sheet.

"I'd have taken the result before the game because it gets us up and running.

"We did well because we had some key players missing. I just felt we let ourselves down when we had the ball. We gave it away too cheaply."
