Bowditch: Wants a loan move - and the Gills are interested

Our sister site for Ipswich fans, BluesWeb.co.uk, has today reported that Ipswich are ready to loan out their young striker, who has reportedly fallen out with the management at Portman Road.

The striker, who has scored seven goals from 25 league starts for the Tractor Boys, including the winning goal against the Gills on opening day last season, has been frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities - and has put in a request for a loan move as a result.

Talking about the situation, Ipswich manager Joe Royle said, "If Dean goes off and kick-starts what we all know is an outstanding talent, we will all benefit.

"He spoke to me about going out on loan, which will hopefully get him going and see him score a few goals. We have had one or two clubs asking about him and Dean's agent is also looking around on his behalf."

The reports have named Gillingham and Blackpool as the two clubs in question - and with the transfer widow coming to a close soon, there could be a development on this situation in the coming week or so.
