Byfield, who had a disappointing season last year, has spoken of his desire to bounce back with a good season for Gillingham this time around - and he has been in red-hot form in pre-season, scoring six goals in five games.

But the news of Colin Lee's interest in Byfield will have Gills fans concerned. To lose one of our two main strikers at this point would be disastrous - and it is hoped that Neale Cooper and Paul Scally rebuff Millwall's offer, should one materialise.
