Caley ace Hislop set to sign
Hislop, who missed a large portion of last season with a serious knee injury, but after undergoing surgery and an extensive rehabilitation programme, Hislop is now back at full fitness and has made appearances from the bench in each of Inverness Caledonian Thistle's three matches so far his season.
Over his career, Hislop has hit 51 goals in 118 starts. He played under Neale Cooper at Ross County - and Cooper's need for more firepower has led him to move for his former striker this week.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle's director of football Graeme Bennett told the Daily Record, "There is real interest from Gillingham and talks are ongoing but it looks likely to happen."
Fans will hope that the signing of Hislop (subject to a successful medical) will be an addition to the existing squad, rather than a replacement for an outgoing player. Rumours have been circulating regarding the future of Darren Byfield, with Millwall rumoured to be interested.
If Hislop passes his medical this weekend, he looks set to put pen to paper on a three-year contract, with the Gills paying Caley a fee in the region of £50,000.
