Clohessy on board for next season
Since his debut against Wycombe in the LDV Vans Trophy back in November, Clohessy has shown himself to be a solid defender with good feet and a good attitude. He even weighed in with his first ever goal in the 3-0 win over MK Dons on New Year's Eve.
Talking to the official site, Ronnie Jepson described Clohessy as having "a few rough edges" and "a smashing attitude".
He explained that the youngster worked hard to win him over after Jepson was initially unsure about his abilities.
"I must admit I wasn't sure about him at first, but he has convinced me after coming into the side during a relegation battle and not shirking anything. He will be a good asset for Gillingham FootbaIl Club."
As for the lad himself, he simply described signing his first pro deal as "a dream come true".
We wish him well in his first full season as a pro.
