Cox departs Priestfield

The former Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Burnley centre half joined Gillingham on a free transfer in the summer of 2003, and racked up 150 league starts for the Gills, scoring six goals.

Manager Mark Stimson has reshuffled the Gills' defence, bringing Danny Cullip and Garry Richards to the club to form a defensive trio with Simon King, leaving Cox out of the reckoning.
