The Gills' last trip to Ashton Gate was one to forget, with the Robins thrashing Ronnie Jepson's men 6-0. But at the time Gillingham were languishing in the lower reaches of League One. This season, Gillingham look a far more competitive outfit, and sit in 10th place in League One, just just five points behind Bristol City in fourth.
The League One encounter on November 18th will act as a handy dress-rehearsal for both sides, as they look to progress to the Third Round of the competition, where the possibility of a big tie against a Premiership side awaits.
