Dunfermline eye Hislop

Hislop: Could be returning to Scotland
Hislop has only made a couple of appearances for the Gills, and there have been rumours of disciplinary problems involving the big Scotsman.

It is thought that Dunfermline manager Jim Leishman is in the market for a new striker to bolster his forward line for the New Year, and could opt to take Hislop from Gillingham on loan with a view to signing him permanently at the end of the season. Alternatively, they could opt to sign him permanently when the transfer window opens in January.

It seems that Hislop, who hasn't featured in a Gills squad under Ronnie Jepson, may be considered surplus to requirements at Priestfield, and it has been suggested that the former Caley Thistle striker may be interested in a move away from Priestfield.

Hislop's agent told the Edinburgh Evening News, "We have had Dunfermline edging towards Steven so that could be an option for us. I think he would be interested in a move back to Scotland.

"He hasn't long moved down to Gillingham but things haven't gone the way he would have liked, so maybe something will develop."

We'll report any further developments on this as they happen.
