Facey offloaded to Wycombe
Facey, who has scored just three goals in 27 league starts for the Gills, was rumoured to have been one of the "absent four" who missed crucial training sessions last week - and has faced criticism from fans for his lack of goals this season.
Mark Stimson has made no secret of his intention to offload the players he feels aren't putting in the required effort, and Facey's departure looks like being one such move.
But despite apparently being surplus to requirements at Priestfield, Wycombe Wanderers manager Paul Lambert was more than happy to secure Facey's services for the remainder of the season.
"Delroy is just the type of player we've been looking for," Lambert told the Wycombe Wanderers website.
"He's big, strong and quick and he'll give us a real alternative up front. We need someone with the strength to hold the ball up and that's one of his big assets.
"Everyone knows that we tried to get Paul Furlong, but he's leading scorer for Luton this season and they weren't prepared to let him go. Delroy is a younger version of Furlong and he was always in our thoughts."
