Frustrations reign as duo exit
But Paterson has announced his decision to quit, telling the Kent Messanger, "I was the chief scout, the first-team coach and the head of youth and it was just impossible. In many ways it's sad to leave but I'm also relieved it's over."
As well as the general workload, Paterson revealed his frustration at seeing the management team's hard work scouting players fail to come to fruition.
"It doesn't matter how many players we identify they always seem to fall down. I think it's becoming extremely frustrating for everyone, most of all the manager and it must be driving him insane."
Paterson's multi-faceted role at the club will be much missed, and Ronnie Jepson has already brought Alan McLeary to the club in the capacity of chief scout, but the first team coach and hugely important head of youth role are both still to be filled following Paterson's departure.
Club physio Simon Webster has also left the club, according to reports - and has been replaced by former Millwall physio Colin Clifford.
We thank both Bobby and Simon for their service to the club, and wish them well in their future careers.
