Brown: Superb start to the season

Many fans were concerned for Jason's future at the club when manager Neale Cooper made Tony Bullock his first signing, but injury to the former Dundee Utd stopper gave Jason the chance he needed to stake his claim - and he has done so in style.

He has been rock-solid between the sticks so far this season - and was a major factor behind our five-game unbeaten run at the start of the season - and when we did eventually lose, to Nottingham Forest, it was more due to the deficiencies of his defensive colleagues than Jason himself.

Fans are delighted to see Jason as our number one this season - and for his performances throughout the month of August, he has earned our first Player of the Month accolade of the season, polling 32.5% of the votes cast via the Gills365 website.
