Pouton: Harshly sent off against Brentford

Pouton was given a straight red by referee Trevor Kettle after being adjudged to have brought down Jay Tabb and denied a clear goalscoring opportunity.

Pouton wasn't last man at the time, as another Gills defender was back there with him, and the challenge was shoulder to shoulder at worst. Many fans believed Tabb was on his way to the deck before Pouton even started to challenge him - and having seen video replays of the incident, Gills boss Ronnie Jepson has decided to appeal against the decision.

If successful, Pouton's ban will be overturned and he will be available for this weekend's important home match with Swansea.
