Jepson: confident about his side's chances

The Gills chief has been working on a super-tight budget this summer - a factor that has seen the club miss out on at least two new signings - but despite this, Jepson is happy that his squad can compete against some of the divisions's big spenders.

"There is Millwall, Brighton, Nottingham and Huddersfield, and then Doncaster have spent a few quid this summer as well," Jepson said this week.

"Bristol City and Swansea also look strong, but it is a challenge we are looking forward to.

"We have had a few knock-backs this summer on the transfer front, but we are raring to go and confident we can do well."
