Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler has said he would like to sign all five of the trialists who played in their 4-1 win over Peterborough United.Goalkeeper Lance Cronin, defender Tony Sinclair, striker Serge Makofo and midfielders Stanley Aborah and Danny Spiller have all impressed him.
But he told BBC Radio Kent he doubts he has the finances for all five.
"It's a tricky one but you can only take so many, I'm going to have to sleep on it," said Hessenthaler.
"I wish the chairman was here to have a look because they were decent. I'm sure he'll get feedback from people here. He'll ring me and ask me how the trialists got on and I'll just say 'they've done great chairman'. "
Hessenthaler added: "They all affected the game. Spiller had another 45 minutes of loads of energy and craft with the football. Sinclair didn't put a foot wrong.
"The keeper [Lance Cronin] - a couple of things popped out but he was straight on it. There might have been a bit of nerves but I've been happy with him.
"And the boy Serge - there was a surge when he went past their centre half and hit the post - he's got some pace.
"Then there's the Ajax boy [Aborah] - who's an interesting one. He's got bags of ability but considering he hasn't played much football for 18 months he looked decent again with his feet and his movement so we've got some tough calls.
"I've pretty much made my mind up that I want to do something with Sinclair and Cronin."
Hessenthaler also admitted he would hate to lose out on Danny Spiller, even though the midfielder already has an offer from Chicago Fire to play in the MLS in the United States.
"I think he's hungry to play for Gillingham again, he's hungry to stay in England and play football and I think that's been proven watching him play," he said.
"It would be hard to let him go and if there was anyone watching there tonight who was looking for a midfield player they might try to snap him up so we'll have to move quickly.
"I'm very interested in him staying at the football club."
