Scally: Two down, two to go
"(There are) Only four people I really want to see - I've seen two of those and have got two more to see," Scally told Sky Sports on Tuesday.

"A number of people have applied but there's a shortlist of four and a decision will be made tomorrow or Thursday.

"I went through this before Stan came in until the end of the season, so I've already seen several candidates and the usual suspects who are looking for work."

One man previously linked with the post at Gillingham was Martin Allen, who has done a superb job at Brentford, taking them to the League One playoffs this season. However, Scally told reporters he has not spoken to the Bees' boss.

"Whilst I'd rather have Stan, we're now looking. Martin Allen is employed by Brentford and I haven't asked permission to speak to Martin so he's not one of the four.

"It's not a case of high profile so much as rather a manager who can come in and knows the division, who is up and coming and has something to prove.

"I've got ten players out of contract so those decisions need to be made fairly quickly."
We'll bring you the news of the new manager as soon as we get it.
