Seremet: possible goalkeeper target
Talking to the Kent on Sunday, Gills chairman Paul Scally said, "We hope to sign two or three new players over the course of this weekend, but until they have been confirmed I'm not in a position to reveal who they may be or what positions they will fill."

The targets, whose identities are unconfirmed, are thought to include Luton Town's Slovenian goaIkeeper Dino Seremet, wh ois looking for a love away from Kenilworth Road to find regular first-team football.

Another player who the club are thought to be interested in Tommy Black, who had a successful spell on loan at Priestfield last season, though Scally confirmed that they haven't spoken to the Crystal Palace winger - yet.

"We've not held any negotiations yet with Tommy Black either and as for Byfield and Brown we'll just have to see what happens."

Jason Brown's comments over the last couple of weeks have suggested that he will be leaving the club in the summer, but manager Ronnie Jepson is hopeful that he can persuade Byfield to stay.

"Darren's made it clear how much he's enjoyed it here, the latter end of the season especially," Jepson said last week.

"We want to keep him. I know the chairman well and I know we'll do everything possible to try and keep Darren at the footbalI club."
