Branch: experienced striker set for Priestfield loan move?
Branch is an experienced operator, after first breaking into the Everton first team as a teenager back in the 90s.

He has since played for a succession of clubs, including Man City, Birmingham, Wolves, Reading , Hull, Bradford and most recently Chester. Last season he made 26 starts for City (plus four substitute appearances) scoring six goals.

However, Branch reportedly fell out of favour with manager Mark Wright last season and Branch was placed on the transfer list. He has since been removed from the list, but he hasn't figured for City in their opening three games so far.

Chester chairman Stephen vaughan has reportedly said, "We've had enquiries from Rochdale and Gillingham about taking Michael on loan, so I'm leaving it up to the manager and the player.

"They've patched up their differences now so we'll just have to see what the manager wants to do and what the player wants to do but there is certainly no shortage of interest in him."

Whether Branch will end up at Priestfield is as yet unclear, but if he does, he'll bring some much-needed experience to the front line.
