Gills legends star in Masters
Bartram was the goalkeeper of the tournament, pulling off a succession of crucial saves for Arsenal, but former Gills teammate Brian Statham hit a long-range rocket for Spurs to deny the Gunners a place in the final.
The final took place between Tottenham and Watford, who fielded two ex-Gills in their side. Steve Butler's hat-trick against Arsenal helped Watford through to the final, and a penalty in the final saw him earn the Top Scorer accolade for the tournament.
But, perhaps unsurprisingly, the main man was Hess. Despite playing a major role in Barnet's pre-season draw with Arsenal on Saturday, Hess played a full part in the Masters for Watford, scoring three goals, including two goals in the final, including a screamer to put the Hornets 3-2 ahead.
Unfortunately Spurs found two late goals to steal the title, but Hess still finished up as a winner, claiming the Player of the Tournament award.
