McDonald: netted his second goal in two games for the Gills
The match gave Ronnie Jepson the chance to give a number of his first-teamers a good runout in the heat, while casting his eye over a number of trialists.

Gillingham's goal was scored by Dean McDonald, but the Emirates hit back twice to seal the win.

Results aren't as important as team shape and fitness at this stage of the season - and Ronnie Jepson is optimistic that things are heading in the right direction.

Next up for the Gills, it's a home friendly with Championship side Queens Park Rangers. The match takes place this Saturday, so why not make your first Priestfield visit of the season this weekend?

The match kicks off at 3pm and tickets cost £12 for adults, £10 for Senior Citizens, £7 for 16-21 year-olds, £5 for 7-15 year-olds and £3 for under 7s.
