Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler says the club's woeful away record is "getting on everyone's nerves".If they fail to beat the League Two leaders Port Vale on Saturday they will break the club's record which currently stands at 32 away games without a win.
The Gills plan to travel up to Vale Park on the day of the game in the hope it could help change their fortunes.
"We need to get off that coach and put to bed this away position," Hessenthaler told BBC Radio Kent.
"It's obviously getting on everyone's nerves so we're going to do something different this week," he added.
Captain Barry Fuller agreed that travelling up to Port Vale on match day was a good idea.
"I think it suits a lot of the boys to be honest.
"They were up for a bit of a change and hopefully that will be the turning point and we can put an end to the conversation about the away record.
"It's going to be a tough place to go and end it but maybe it's the right place to go there and end it.
"Maybe that is the team we need to play at the moment the top team," he said.
