Mulligan: impressed while on loan last season

Mulligan is a player Gills fans know well - after impressing during his loan period with the club. His work rate and unselfish play endeared him to the Priestfield faithful - and he netted his first goal in Gills colours in the 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town in early-April.

Twenty-three year old Ndumbu-Nsungu is a pacy striker who has been described as a real box of tricks. He has had spells with a number of clubs and should give us a new option up front next season.

The pair were signed on the day that chairman Paul Scally spoke of his hopes for automatic promotion this season.

Talking to BBC Radio Kent, Scally said, "We've got every possibility of going up.

"We've got no-one to fear. It's more exciting with Millwall, Crewe and Brighton coming down and Carlisle and Grimsby and Northampton coming up.

"But I don't think there's anything here we should fear."

The signings of Mulligan and Ndumbu-Nsungu should certainly help our strikeforce, though fans are still hoping that striker Darren Byfield and goaIkeeper Jason Brown will be signed up for next season.
