With a number of players departing the club this summer, including some high wage earners like Chris Hope, Paul Scally has managed to bring down the wage bill while allowing for new arrivals at Priestfield.
Talking to BBC Radio Kent, Scally said, "We've lowered our costs and the reason why it's a lower figure is because we want quality rather than quantity.
"He (Jepson) has a clean sheet to bring in the players he wants."
