David Graham: would add extra firepower and competition to the Gills' attack
The former Torquay United striker has impressed the coaching staff at Priestfield - and showed some excellent touches for the Gills in their pre-season defeat against charlton at Priestfield.

The Scottish striker was a revelation at Torquay, netting 45 goals in 98 league starts for the Gulls before a big money move to Wigan, where he found first-team opportunities hard to come by.

He then moved to Sheffield Wednesday, but fell out of favour and spent loan spells at Huddersfield, Bradford and Torquay before linking up with Gillingham on trial.

Manager Ronnie Jepson was thought to have wanted the Graham deal signed this time last week, but it appears to have taken slightly longer for the player to negotiate the terms of his release from Sheffield Wednesday.

The way is now clear for the Gills to bring Graham to the club on a permanent basis - and in so doing, they will add more competition to the striking department, with Gary Mulligan and summer signing Delroy Facey the clear first choice partnership so far.

We'll report news of Graham's signing if and when it is announced by the club.
