The former Dover boss masterminded back-to-back wins over Macclesfield and Port Vale, seeing them on the fringe of the play-off places at the start of the new year.
Speaking to the club's official website, Hessenthaler said: "It's nice to get some recognition but it's the players that win you awards.
"They are the ones that go out there and have to perform.
"It isn't about me, it's a collective effort by everyone at the club to turn things around over the past few weeks."
