Hess to keep faith

The promotion chasers picked up a crucial 1-0 win over Rotherham on Easter Monday to keep hold of their play-off spot and Hessenthaler is unlikely to make any unforced changes for the visit of the Silkmen.

Centre-half Simon King received a knock to his ribs and was substituted in the victory at Don Valley, but the Gills coaching staff expect him to be fit.

Young forward Stefan Payne will definitely miss out with a knee injury, while the same problem will ensure midfielder Curtis Weston plays no part.

Chris Palmer has not featured since November after undergoing surgery on his knee and the midfielder is not likely to play in the remaining two matches.

When the two sides met at Moss Rose in December, Gillingham recorded a 4-2 win.
