New Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler has said he intends to take the club straight back up to League One next season.Chairman Paul Scally has already stated that he expects nothing less than promotion during Hessenthaler's first season back in charge at Priestfield.
Hessenthaler told BBC Radio Kent: "We've got be get back to League One at the first attempt.
"The chairman's already put a bit of pressure on us but we understand that."
He added: "We've got to produce results that are going to get us back into the first division, whether we win it or get in the top three.
We want to play football but you've got to play it in the right way and you've got to earn the right - that's the key

"Even if we have to go through the play-offs, although we don't really want that scenario, we want to get back to where the club belongs. We're not a League Two club - simple as that."
The Gills only needed a point on the last day of the season to avoid relegation, but instead lost 3-0 to Wycombe Wanderers to ensure their drop to League Two football.
"I know how the fans work - rightly so - and if the team's not doing what they should be doing then they'll be asking questions," Hessenthaler continued.
If he does well he will become an even greater legend at the Gills than he is already

"But we're going to build a team here who are going to go out and give 100% - no less - and who will get out there and wear the shirt with pride and passion.
"If they can't buy into that then won't be at this football club - simple as that.
"That's our philosophy. Yes we want to play football but you've got to play it in the right way and you've got to earn the right - that's the key."
