Hessenthaler told BBC Radio Kent: "He will bring more to us once he gets used to Gillingham and full-time football.
"He was nervous, he wants to pass it, but we don't want him to pass it, we want him to get at defenders, especially late in the game."
Inkango joined the Gills on a three month contract after a successful trial, having been released by Paris-based French third division side Red Star 93.
"He'll get fans off their seats; he did that in the short time he was on and I'm delighted for the kid," added Hessenthaler.
