Jarvis: will wait until the summer
Gillingham's official website has accused Jarvis' agent Mark Curtis of "scuppering" the deal, with chairman Paul Scally explained, ""I can confirm that we have received an offer for Matt Jarvis from Forest for £650,000.

"However, the player's agent has informed me that he will not be joining Nottingham Forest - the power of agents."

That suggests that the club may have accepted Forest's £650,000 bid, but with the player free to speak with any club he wishes, it appears Jarvis and his agent are keeping their powder dry until the summer, when more lucrative deals may be available.

If Matty chooses to move to a club that cannot agree a fee with Gillingham, the fee will be set by tribunal - and it is hoped that in the light of Forest's bid, the tribunal won't sell Gillingham short, but it is out of the club's hands, so it seems.

With Gillingham seemingly keen to sell - and with a host of clubs eyeing the young winger, one thing does appear certain - and that's Matty Jarvis won't be a Gillingham player next season.
