Jarvis: will see out the season at Gillingham
Matty's representative Mark Curtis yesterday clarified the situation after intense speculation from the Midlands linked the fleet-footed winger with a loan move to Nottingham Forest.

"Matt is not going anywhere this season and he will be staying at Gillingham," he told the Nottingham Evening Post.

"In the summer he will then explore all the options available, of which Nottingham Forest is one.

Gills manager Ronnie Jepson has also made clear his intention to keep Matty at the club - and still harbours hope that he may be able to persuade the young forward to stay at Priestfield for another season.

"If I lose Matt Jarvis what am I going to do? As far as I'm concerned Jarvis is staying here as a Gillingham player until the end of the season and even onwards."

But with the Gills desperately short of funding for the team, it is likely that Jarvis will leave the club in the summer, with Plymouth and Nottingham Forest top of the list of suitors. But with Premiership scouts paying regular visits to Priestfield Stadium this season, we may yet see Jarvis moving to a bigger club when the transfer window opens in the summer.
