Brown: requested transfer
Talking to his personal website, Jason stated that an unhealthy relationship with the management and the fact that he hasn't been given a chance has affected him both in his professional life and his personal life - and this is something he is not prepared to let continue. He also says that he hopes the Gills fans will understand his decision. He also expressed his thanks to the fans for the support he has received during his time at the club.

Following an injury last season, Jason has found himself out of first-team at Priestfield following Steve Banks inclusion and subsequent good form.

Brown has worked extremely hard in his quest to win back his place in the Gills side, even sacrificing his summer holiday with his family to make sure he started the season fully fit and match sharp.

However, he has made just one appearance this season, against Northampton Town in the Carling Cup defeat in August. It certainly seems he has a difference in opinion with the management at Priestfield - and he obviously feels he must change clubs in order to progress his career.

Jason made first-team 80 appearances for the Gills, spanning three and a half seasons. In that time he broke into the Welsh under 21 team and was widely regarded as one of the most talented young goalkeepers in English football.

I'm sure all Gills fans will join me in wishing Jason well, whatever transpires - as he has shown his undoubted professionalism and ability as a player at Priestfield. He'll be a major asset lost should he go.
