Jason Brown: saying his goodbyes at Priestfield
Gillingham have offered a contract to Jason, but it is thought to be some way short of the keeper's expectations, and it seems there may be a parting of the ways sooner rather than later.

News broke this week that Championship side Cardiff City were interested in Brown, who has now broken into the full Welsh squad - and Jason has reacted to the interest from Ninian Park with enthusiasm.

"I'm considering what options I've got for next season at the moment, but to be honest I would love to move to Cardiff," he said.

"I believe I'm good enough for the Championship, even higher than that maybe, and Cardiff would be a great place to show what I could do.

"There's also the fact that a move there would put me in the international spotlight, which is something I want.

"I'll obviously have to wait and see what happens, but Cardiff would definitely be a dream move."

I'm sure the vast majority of Gills fans will wish Jason all the best if he does decide to move on to develop his career. We'd all love him to stay, but we all know he's more than good enough to make the step back up into the Championship.

Nothing has been agreed yet, but sadly it does seem like we've seen the last of Jason Brown in a Gills shirt.

Cardiff are also thought to be interested in Gills Welsh international midfielder Andy Crofts, though a transfer fee would almost certainly be required to secure his signature for next season.
