Jepson: I can improve Byfield

There's more to come from Byfield, according to Ronnie Jepson

Talking to BBC Radio Kent, Ronnie said, "I spoke to Darren at length. I'd like to think I got the best out of him.

"I still think there's more to come and I'd love him to be here so I can try and improve him."

"I'll be doing my utmost to keep Darren at the club. I think he's played with a smile on his face since I took this job on.

"I hope negotiations go well and that he and Jason Brown will be Gillingham players next year."

News on both Byfield and Brown's contract situations remains unclear after both players were offered deals for the new season. However, it remains to be seen whether these deals are deemed suitable for the players themselves.
