"Stuart has come in and has really helped me personally," Julian told BBC Radio Kent.
"I'm absolutely delighted he's here and I hope he stays as long as I stay here. I really love working with him."
Former Brentford and Stevenage man Julian also had praise for manager Andy Hessenthaler following the Gills' recent surge up the League Two table.
The 3-1 defeat by Crewe on 13 November saw the Kent club slip to 22nd in the table, only out of the relegation zone on goal difference.
But since then Hessenthaler, who arrived for a second spell in charge at Priestfield from Dover in the summer, has guided his side to seven wins from eight games, a run that has seen them climb into the play-off places.
"I love it - Hessy's really good to work for," said Julian. "All the boys took to him straight away.
"We really like him, and [coaches] Ian Hendon and Nicky Southall as well, all three of them. The boys are really enthusiastic."
