Ligament damage set to send Mulligan home

Mulligan: Showed promise in his appearances for the Gills
Mulligan, who has featured in three matches since his loan move to Priestfield, was injured by a lunging Kevin Horlock challenge.

Initial fears that he had broken his leg have been calmed with the news that the X-rays and a subsequent MRI scan showed no break, though he has damaged his ankle ligaments.

A club spokesman told TeamTalk, "It's just ligament damage, not a break, which is a bonus.

"He will be out for two or three weeks though, which takes him past the end of his loan deal.

"He will probably therefore return to Sheffield."

We wish Gary a speedy recovery.
