Marlon: Still has a soft spot for the Gills
Marlon was speaking to the Leeds United Official website in the build-up to this weekend's match between Leeds and Gillingham at Elland Road.

"I wouldn't like to see them go down and obviously being contract to Forest, I wouldn't like to see them go down either. So I will be keeping my eye out for their results after Saturday," he continued.

"The club was in a financial state at the time and the PFA were called in to help pay the players' wages, so the only way they could guarantee the wages was if I moved on and that's what happened. I think Gillingham got all their money upfront so it was a good deal for them.

"I have still got feelings for them because they put me in the spotlight and gave me the chance to shine."

Marlon could play a part in Saturday's match, especially when you consider that David Healy and Marlon are Leeds' only fully fit strikers at present. On-form target-man Rob Hulse, on loan from West Brom, is hoping to be fit, while pacy Julian Joachim may also be back from injury in time for the weekend.

Marlon on-loan from Nottingham Forest, knows he won't be allowed to play against his full-time employers when Leeds meet Forest next week, so he will be keen to make a good impression on Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell this weekend to help secure his place in the side for the matches thereafter.

Talking about the situation, King said, "Two of my old clubs in one week is a weird one for me and people have asked who I am going to be cheering for and that's a question I don't really want to be answering. I am sitting on the fence for that one.

"Whatever happens I just hope we get three points on Saturday."

I assume he was talking about Leeds...
