Martin hails Gills attitude

The former Blackpool youngster appeared as a second-half substitute in the win over Macclesfield and has been impressed by the atmosphere at Priestfield so far.

"I wanted to feel comfortable at a club and I liked the way Gillingham played football," Martin told the club's official website, "It's a good club. I knew the manager (Andy Hessenthaler) and I knew he'd be straight with me.

"I wanted to come back down south, play football every week and work my way into the team.

"When I arrived at the club the atmosphere was buzzing and I couldn't believe that results weren't going their way. The manager has kept the spirits up, the players have kept going and the mood is really good."

Meanwhile, Gillingham`s postponed home fixture with Rotherham has been rearranged for Tuesday February 8, kick-off 7.45pm.
