McDonald: moving north of the border
Caley paid a nominal fee for McDonald, who failed to impress at Priestfield last season and struggled to earn a regular place in Ronnie Jepson's side.

McDonald replaces the outgoing Craig Dargo, and Caley manager Charlie Christie has high hopes for the former Gills man.

"We were looking for a player who would take the ball into his feet and be creative around the box and hopefully Dean will give us that."

McDonald scored six goals in 20 starts for the Gills.
