New boys set to sign?

We've seen a lot of hopefuls appearing in pre-season friendlies, both for the first team and the reserve team, but it seems finding suitable quality is akin to finding a needle in a haystack. But despite this, the gaffer seems to have unearthed a couple of players who we may see sign in the next couple of days.
After the Barnet match, Cooper told the official website, "Jamie McCunnie, the right-back from Scotland, we had a look at, and he is a good player. Brent Sancho, the big centre half, came on in the second half. He looks quite good."

While Cooper was clearly impressed with both McCunnie and Sancho, he hasn't been so pleased with the quality of the trialists he's seen in forward positions this summer - and he has plans to rectify the lack of strength up front in the coming days, saying, "We need a bit more up front, and we'll be trying our best to get someone this week."
"It's not going to be easy with the financial restrictions and the loss of quality players. Hopefully, we can bring in the right players to do a job to help us do well. Who knows? It is a big task for us all. Some clubs are giving it a big push. Oldham have spent a few bob. Bristol City are a big club, with the lads Bridges and Stewart up front. We have got to try and compete against these teams."
We'll bring you the news on the new arrivals as they happen, right here on Gills365.
