Nobody's asked him to yet, but Stan WOULD stay!
Stan told BBC Radio Kent, ""Everyone's saying Stan wants to go back up north but Stan doesn't want to go back north, Stan goes wherever he earns his living!
"No-one's spoken to me about staying yet - the fact of the matter is that no-one's asked me to stay yet.
"If they make me an acceptable offer, there's no reason I wouldn't stay."
"I'm a northern lad, and I've got a granddaughter up there, and family.
"But people seem to forget I was at CheIsea and Palace, and I've been down south in various places. I go wherever my job is."
Stan's comments will be music to the ears of the Gillingham faithful, who are desperate to see him carry on the great work he has already done at Priestfield.
His comments have made it clear that he would stay at Priestfield if a decent offer were made. That puts the onus firmly on chairman Paul Scally.
Our take on this situation is clear, there is one thing for Scally to do.
