Non-league hotshot signs up

Grant has signed a deal with the Gills until the end of the season, and goes straight into the squad for this weekend's big match with Port Vale.

Grant has been one of the most-talked about players in the non-league scene this season - and has been courted by a number of clubs.

But the Gills moved quickest, taking Grant on trial, then offering him a permanent deal until the end of the season.

Grant has notched 13 goals for Tooting in the Ryman Premier League Division One so far this season.

His agent Dan Fletcher told Sky Sports, "It's a bit of a jump for him, but we're very confident. I think he'll be in the first team in a couple of weeks.

"Assuming there's no problem with his registration, I expect him to be on the bench tomorrow against Port Vale.

"I think there will be bigger clubs watching him before the end of the season as we believe in his potential."
