Pouton: back in the fold
North East native Pouton was a qualified success at Hartlepool United during his loan spell – and manager Neale Cooper was very keen to extend Pouts’ loan.

Talking to the Hartlepool United official website, Cooper said, "It's disappointing because Alan fitted in well and got on well with all of the boys.

"He has been getting fitter with every match and you could see his quality."

That final statement should greatly please Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler, who has seen Pouton struggle to attain full fitness since his arrival at the club. Now showing both fitness and form, the former Grimsby Town man could prove an influential figure in future Gills sides.

We at Gills365 are delighted to hear of Pouton’s return – and look forward to seeing him back in a Gills shirt again. We sincerely hope the management will make full use of his abilities – and he will establish himself as an integral part of the Gills lineup in the weeks and months to come.
