Premiership midfielder targeted

Moncur is currently out-of-favour at Upton Park and his contract with the Hammers runs only until the summer.

Hessenthaler said: "I am going to make inquiries about Moncur in a loan capacity.

"We need someone to put their foot on the ball in midfield and even though he is in his mid thirties Moncur is that type of player.

"Whether we can afford him is a different matter but if you don't ask you don't get," the manager told the Medway standard.
