Sancho faces lengthy lay off

Sancho sprained his knee in the first half of the 2-1 win over Doncaster Rovers at Belle Vue and was replaced at halftime - and now the Trinidad & Tobago international looks set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Sancho: ruled out through injury
Talking to the Trinidad & Tobago Football Federation, Sancho said, "It's disappointing to say the least because it also puts me out of the two international friendlies back home next month.

"We were doing quite well in the first half and I felt I had been doing pretty good in the previous matches so this blow is not the best thing at the time. When it happened I didn't feel it much because I was able to walk it out but then at half time I got the feeling that it had a strain.

"Hopefully, the club will continue to get decent results and I will be back in time before Christmas to help them during that period."

We wish Brent a full and speedy recovery. Meanwhile, Sancho's place in the side looks set to be taken by Leon Johnson, who put in a superb performance at centre half against Millwall on Tuesday night.
