Scally: Looking forward to a successful season
Talking to the official website, he said, "The fixtures have been very kind to us. I'm excited by August and the fact that we, not only start the campaign with a home match against Colchester, but also entertain Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth at Priestfield.

"The fixtures around the Christmas holidays are fantastic for us with Bristol City at home on Boxing Day and MK Dons at Priestfield on New Year's Eve.

"We have a local derby at Southend United to look forward to at Easter and then a home game on Easter Monday against Bradford.

"Our final game of the season, away at Blackpool, in my view, caps off a very favourable fixture list indeed.

"Of course it's not only the important calendar dates that excite us. There are new teams to play like Yeovil, stadiums to visit and, of course, we are able to re-acquaint ourselves with our old friends like those at Swindon.

"All-in-all I'm very excited about the new season, we can all look forward to a new team, playing new teams at new venues.

"There is everything to play for and I can't wait for the season to get going."
