Scally: players are playing for their futures
He stated that up to 11 players would be out of contract at the end of the season - and that no decisions will be taken on contracts until after Christmas. the players performances during this time will therefore have an influence on the club's decisions after the festive period. In short, the players are now playing for their Gillingham futures.
Scally clearly is far from impressed by the performance of the team this season. In his notes, he said, "...the reality is that we have conceded far too many goals, have failed to score enough goals, have failed to keep a clean sheet and have been knocked out of the Carling Cup by a League Two team. For us all that is unacceptable and things must change immediately."
He also stated that he will soon be implementing "...changes to give us a chance of a better and brighter future, and of course of winning more games."
It'll be very interesting to see what those changes are.
With tactical nous at a premium and with the players performing well below-par, it seems whatever Scally decides to do will place a burden on the club's finances. However, bringing in new coaching staff or new players may be the difference between survival and relegation. If nothing changes, all signs point towards the latter.

We here at Gills365 are right behind the chairman. Let's hope he can get it right and turn the club around in what must be one of the toughest tests of his chairmanship to date.
