Scally puts faith in youth

Scally: helping Jepson to recruit young, hungry players
Talking to BBC Radio Kent, Scally backed his manager's decision to bring young players to the club, citing the lack of success when Gillingham have brought in experienced players in past seasons.

"History has shown us the mistakes we've made by signing players who are over 30.

"They were on high salaries, and didn't have the motivation they had 10 years prior in their careers.

"But Ronnie has done well in brining in youngsters. If you have younger players you have less injuries and you have more players available to play."

So far this summer Jepson has signed twentysomething strikers Gary Mulligan and Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu, while offering contracts to youngsters Frannie Collin and Luke Howell.
