Shaw available as Warnock clears the decks

Shaw: Set to leave Bramall Lane?
Shaw, who made 131 appearances for the Gills, scoring 29 goals, was a hugely influential player for the club operating 'in the hole' and being the catalyst for many of Gillingham's goals during his time at the club.

He turned down a move back to Priestfield last season as he wanted to stay and help the Blades get promoted, but Shaw was knocked down the pecking order at Bramall Lane and has been a bit-part player at the Yorkshire club since he turned down a move back to Kent.

In addition to Shaw, Warnock has transfer-listed some good quality players, all of whom should have no problem finding a new club.

Midfielders Nick Montgomery and Paul Thirlwell, winger Andy Liddell, defender Rob Kozluk and strikers Danny Cadamarteri and Luke Beckett are all available for transfer. Beckett in particular would make a superb signing for the Gills, as would Kozluk. Of course, a return for the Bald One would be hugely welcome too.

Warnock: Listed seven first-team pros
Talking to the BBC, Warnock said, "It doesn't necessarily mean that these lads will immediately leave.

"But we cannot guarantee them first-team football and would like to make clubs aware they are available.

"They still form part of the squad but may be sacrificed to bring in other new players or talented youngsters."

With Paul Scally still away on holiday, however, it will be difficult for the club to take advantage of such situations, even if Neale Cooper was interested and we had the funds to finance players of that calibre.
