Gillingham could have defender Josh Gowling available after he missed the last four games with an ankle injury.
Midfielders Andy Barcham and Mark Bentley are both expected to be named in the squad.
Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire: "Gills will be tough opposition, they bullied us a bit down at their place and they were physical and we succumbed, but we are much more physical now.
"We're looking far more physically capable but the big lads in the team are also playing better.
"We've had some outstanding performances up front and in defence recently.
"There will be great expectations here."
